Slaven BILIC to be on ITV's pundit roster for Euro 2016

Slaven Bilic will appear along with Lothar Matthaus , Peter Crouch , Christian Karembu, Norman Whiteside, Tony Pulis, Emmanuel Petit, Louis Saha , Eniola Aluko & Richard Dunne alongside the usual ITV suspects like Hoddle, Ian Wright & Lee Dixon.

The BBC will be using Rio Ferdinand , Thierry Henry, Gianluca Vialli , Vincent Kompany, Dean Saunders, Chris Brunt, Gerry Armstrong, Jens Lehmann, Jurgen Klinsmann , Robbie Savage, Neil Lennon & Frank Lampard alongside the likes of Lineker & Shearer.

Nice to see the BBC have picked up Gerry Armstrong, hopefully as a match summariser. He's always been good on Sky imo.

Hopefully Slaven gets more than the Croatia games given he knows the England players. Would love to hear him commenting on Roy's work.

I think the sky football coverage is the best by far, yes.The rest are poor in comparison, except BT who are fucking dog toffee.

Haha I was at Newcastle away back in the 80s we lost 4-0.it being g a live game micky was commentating and the box/ studio was next to the away bit. We was chanting on the way out at him the way he said linker, he came out and gave us a wave. Proper shit game only softened by watching never ending story on the coach going home.

So, as per usual, both channels think only footballers, most of whom struggle to put two sentences together, are capable of commenting on football.

It just infuriates me that they don't use skilled wordsmiths who have a passion for the game, people who understand football and can express themselves adroitly.

Also, some pundits who can introduce a bit of humour wouldn't go amiss.

Confessing to liking any genuinely insightful commentator or pundit would just lead to a bunch of replies saying how bad/boring they are. That's the whole reason TV end up with mediocre but inoffensive pundits.
